Single parents and displaced homemakers account for the largest group of participants at Project Self-Sufficiency. Following an initial intake, single parents and displaced homemakers in the Sussex County, New Jersey area are invited to take advantage of the following services:
- Comprehensive Case Management;
- Counseling and Referral;
- Job Search;
- Job Training;
- Career Guidance;
- Computer Classes;
- Job Placement;
- Childcare;
- Parenting Skills Classes;
- Life Skills Workshops and Support Groups;
- Emergency Basic Needs Assistance, such as food, clothing and help with utility bills;
- Legal Assistance and Education;
- GED and literacy help;
- Health Education;
- Home visitation;
- Help with Substance Abuse and Recovery;
- Holiday Assistance;
- Family activities.
The Single Parent Displaced Homemaker program at Project Self-Sufficiency is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families.
